Sono le piccole cose a dircelo, con Majid Modir…
#IOFOTOGRAFOACASA per Kromìa – CHIAMATA ALLE ARTI!

Lo ripetiamo: dobbiamo dire veramente poco per intenderci sul fatto che stiamo vivendo un momento impegnativo ed epocale.
Kromìa da sempre sente pulsante la mission di arrivare ai cuori e nelle case di tutti, promuovendo la democraticità della fruizione artistica. E nelle case di tutti, a maggior ragione in questa fase #iorestoacasa, avvertiamo ancor più importante giungere oggi in modo incisivo.
Già sul nostro Blog vi stiamo tenendo compagnia con l’iniziativa #kromìarestaconvoi, con pillole di cultura e creatività fotografica.
Ma, in questo momento storico, abbiamo desiderio di far di più: far sì che questa condizione, e questo filo rosso che vogliamo mantenere con voi, nostri appassionati e fruitori, e con i nostri artisti, cuore pulsante di Kromìa, si traduca in vera produzione di nuova creatività, artistica e di vissuto.
Per far fronte all’emergenza innanzitutto esistenziale del ritrovarci inaspettatamente a rimodulare le nostre vite, ritmi, riti, abitudini, noie, beghe, passioni, desideri, alla luce di quanto la soglia domestica consente di fare. Un confine che può tradursi anche però, inaspettatamente, in un accesso a nuove dimensioni. Nello scoprire potenzialità nuove e impreviste nel nostro quotidiano, una nuova sensibilità, una differente attenzione a cose, persone, emozioni.
Chi meglio degli Artisti, antenne sensibilissime, come nella definizione e metafora di Marshall McLuhan, può insegnarci dunque a “reagire ai pugni” delle mutazioni dei tempi anziché “prenderli sul mento”?
È a loro dunque che ci siamo rivolti: chiamata alle arti è l’espressione spesso utilizzata per ricordare l’iniziativa di quel Maestro di Lucio Amelio davanti a un’altra grossa crisi. Noi vogliamo idealmente inserirci in quell’esperienza prestigiosa, e trarre da essa l’insegnamento di voler fare, della difficoltà, occasione di nuova arte.
Abbiamo dunque ideato il progetto artistico, editoriale online e di beneficenza:

Come funziona?
- Abbiamo invitato i nostri fotografi a rivolgere, come magari già stanno facendo spontaneamente, il loro sguardo fotografico a ciò che si può vedere e vivere in casa, o dalla finestra e balcone di casa.
- I nostri autori hanno scattato in modo anche easy, da cellulare, o secondo le loro preferenze, ciascuno nello stile e linguaggio che gli è proprio.
- Abbiamo corredato l’immagine di una nota critica, e laddove possibile di una intervista audio all’autore, per guidarvi nei significati e valori artistici dell’opera, e per farvi entrare davvero “dentro lo studio” dei nostri fotografi! In particolare, a tutti chiediamo come l’isolamento impatta sul loro processo creativo e di lavoro, quali plus dona, e quali minus sottrae, in modo tale da offrire anche una mappatura antropologica dell’essere artista nella pandemia.
- L’immagine poi rimarrà nell’archivio di esposizione e vendita Kromìa confluendo con le altre pervenute – a partire da quando la situazione sanitaria si sarà normalizzata – in un kit di cartoline a fine di beneficenza #Iofotografoacasa, a ricordo e supporto di questo momento storico.
Continuiamo dunque questo nostro progetto, grati verso gli artisti che hanno scelto di aderire e desiderosi di potervi mandare, in questo modo, ancor più percepibile il nostro abbraccio, più che mai oggi con forza, nella forza dell’arte.

Insomniac
La delicatezza di un velo di Rinascimentale celatura, quasi botticelliana, una curva ricamata sottile sull’ordito ritmico di capriate d’altri tempi.
D’improvviso, appare però una moltiplicazione semantica di ben più contemporanea sensibilità, cara allo stile di Majid Modir: quasi immagine doppia di surrealistica memoria, il solaio fissato dall’artista nelle sue lunghe notti insonni gli sorride.
Il soffitto come proiezione di opportunità diviene cielo di sogni oltre l’orizzonte, cielo in una stanza. “You can’t do much about it! Stay in the moment and just smile!”. Così sembra sussurrargli, nell’improvvisa epifania di radicata sapienza orientale.
Ma la creatività non è solo eredità, come mostra il percorso dell’autore, e la sua bellezza è proprio nell’avere la forza di spingere l’immaginazione oltre, anche quando si è chiusi nell’impedimento, come in questi giorni di lockdown. Verso quel livello doppio e ulteriore di verità, che solo gli occhi dell’anima possono scorgere nel futuro.

NEW PROJECT: #SHOOTING@HOME for Kromìa – CALL FOR ARTS!

It’s sure that we are living an epoch-making moment.
Our mission is democracy for the arts, and arriving to everybody’s home. Especially today, that we have to stay home for our safety.
On our Blog we already run the project #kromìastayswithyou, with articles of photographic culture and creativity.
But we wanted more: transforming this though period in new production of new art.
We live the existential emergency of re-modulating our daily lives, routine, problems, joys, issues, rituals, passions. This boundary can also become an access, to new potentialities and perceptions.
Marshall McLuhan said that artists, very sensitive aerials, can teach us how to react to changes, instead of undergoing them.
So, we asked to our artists to take part in our new idea: the expression call for arts is also used to remember the project of the Master gallerist Lucio Amelio to react in front of the big 1980 Irpinia earthquake. We want to learn from that prestigious example, and transform difficulty in new art.
So, here you are our new online editorial, artistic and donation project:

- We asked our authors to observe what they can see at home, or from home: a new vision, for a new temporary life style.
- We asked them to shoot a new work for us.
- We accompany every image with a critical text and, if possible, with an audio interview to the artist. So, we want to guide you by hand in the work’s artistic meaning, and introduce you directly in our photographers’ studio! Especially, we are asking our artists which are the plus and minus of the lockdown on their process of creativity, so as to offer you an anthropological mapping of being an artist during this pandemic.
- The images of the project will be part of the display and selling archive of Kromìa, and when the sanitary situation becomes normal again, it will be possible buying them in a kit, and the proceeds from their selling will be donated for charity, in memory and sustain of this historical moment.
So, let’s go on with our new project!
We are grateful to the artists that decided to take part in it, and longing to make you arrive, with their works, even more perceivable embrace, today more stronger than ever, with the strength of art.

Insomniac
Almost Renaissance and Botticelli delicacy, a curved line is embroidered by a veil on the warp of ancient trusses.
Suddenly, a more contemporary multi-level meaning appears, as often in Majid Modir: most surrealistic double image, the slab is smiling at the artist during his insomniac nights.
The ceiling as a projection of opportunities: a sky of dreams beyond the horizon and the limits. As in the song, il cielo in una stanza. “You can’t do much about it! Stay in the moment and just smile!” – it whispers him, in an epiphany of deeply-rooted wisdom.
But creativity is not only heritage, as the author shows us, and its strength is just pushing imagination over. Also over the lockdown obstacle. Reaching that second, and deeper, level of truth, that only the eyes of the soul can peer in the future.
